Frustrated Malaysian Let Loose On JPJ For Negligence And Inefficiency

An unnamed Malaysian recently let loose in a JPJ branch, accusing them and Malaysian police for negligence, inefficiency and alleged corruption in public.

According to the video, the whole problem started when this man wanted to renew his road tax, only to find out that he has been blacklisted an unable to do so. When asked even JPJ officials could not come up with an answer, and suggested that he go to the police station to check if there are any unresolved traffic offences.

When police records revealed nothing wrong with him, he investigated further and found the cause of the whole ordeal – a car he owned in 2001, which impounded (we suspect due to illegal modifications) and was supposed to be scrapped, is still currently on the road, driven by an unknown individual.

Further infuriating is that when he request for the current driver of the car to be arrested, both JPJ and the police said that they do not have the power to do so, which he mentioned: ‘If JPJ said they don’t have the power, and even the police said the same thing, then who has the power?’

He further mentioned that his livelihood is on the line, as if the ‘ghost’ car was ever caught in any illegal activities, he would have been caught by the police, and could very well be locked up in police lockups to assist investigation.

He also complained that because of the impoundment over 10 years ago, he lost money because he had to pay the instalment for the RM78,000 car to the bank.

I would not blame him for overreacting, he allowed his car to be impounded for an office as any law-abiding citizen would, but to have this happening is irresponsibility and negligence on JPJ’s part, anyone would act the same way.
