Entertainment Icons We Lost In 2016.

We do not die because we have to die; we die because one day, and not so long ago, our consciousness was forced to deem it necessary. Antonin Artaud  (1896 - 1948).

Unfortunately, death is a necessary end and it will come when we least expected it. The best way to handle it is to expect it at any moment.

This is a look back at movies STARS, television, high profile artist manager, media and music that lost their life’s this year 2016.


The most recent victim lost to the cold hand of death: photo below; is Rene Angelil. January 16, 1942 – January 14, 2016). Rene was a Canadian singer and manager. He was the husband and at one time the manager of singer Celine Dion until his death. Rene Angelil, the husband and manager of Celine Dion, died on January 14, 2016 following a lengthy cancer battle. Rene was 73.
Alan Rickman;photo below,was a classically trained stage star and notorious screen villain in the "Harry Potter" saga and other films, died on January 14, 2016 after a battle with cancer. He was 69. Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman (21 February 1946 – 14 January 2016) was an English actor and director, known for playing a variety of roles on stage and screen, often as a complex antagonist. Rickman was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, performing in modern and classical theatre productions.
Michael Galeota with below photo; (August 28, 1984 – January 10, 2016) was an American actor. He was best known for his role as Nick Lighter in the Disney Channel Original Series; The Jersey. In early January 2016, Galeota was hospitalized after complaining of abdominal pains, but left treatment against doctor's orders. According to an early TMZ account after his death, Galeota "had a history of hypertension and high cholesterol. He also battled diverticulitis – inflammation of the digestive tract. Former Disney Channel star Michael Galeota was found dead in his Glendal, Calif., home on January 10, 2016. Galeota -- who died of natural causes -- was 31.

David Robert Jones;photo below (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known as David Bowie.was an English singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, painter and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over five decades, and was considered by critics and other musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s.Rock icon David Bowie died on January 10, 2016 following a battle with cancer. He was 69.
Craig Strickland  (born Craig Michael Strickland on June 2, 1986 in Alma, Arkansas) is the lead singer of the country band Backroad Anthem. The six-man band hails from Arkansas and released their debut album Torn on Sept. 4, 2015.
Backroad Anthem singer Craig Strickland (L) was found dead in Oklahoma following a boating accident with friend Chase Morland (R), who also died. Strickland was 29.

Daniel Patrick Harrington, Jr.,photo below; (August 13, 1929 – January 6, 2016), known as Pat Harrington, Jr. or simply Pat Harrington, was an American voice, stage, and television actor, best known for his role as building superintendent "Schneider" on the CBS sitcom One Day at a Time. His father, Pat Harrington, Sr., was also an actor.
Former 'One Day At A Time' star Pat Harrington Jr. died on January 6, 2016 at age 86.
Robert Colin Stigwood, photo below;(16 April 1934 – 4 January 2016) was an Australian-born British-resident music entrepreneur and impresario, best known for managing Cream and the Bee Gees, theatrical productions like Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar and film productions including the hugely successful Grease and Saturday Night Fever. Robert Stigwood, manager of such iconic bands as the Bee Gees (pictured) and Cream, and producer of films including 'Grease' and 'Saturday Night Fever' died in January at age 81.
