In the wake of the barbaric Paris terror attacks, every nation seems to be well alert and proactive to combat any unforeseen attack. Experts are arguing over what should be the best strategy to stop further terrorism, especially from members of ISIS, considering the fact they target densely populated cities in Europe.
Some security experts suggested more war against Islamic countries … or more spying … or more crackdowns on our liberties. In reality and despite what the talking heads may say the long term methods for stopping future attacks according to WashingtonsBlog is to "stop overthrowing the moderates and arming the crazies". This brought to mind the killing of Saddam Hussein and Mamour Gaddafi. The fact again is that Russian FSB forces was well ahead and a little more effective than the French.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of seven members of the Islamic State in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, who were reportedly preparing "high-profile terrorist attacks" in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Sverdlovsk region with the use of homemade explosives, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Monday.
The leader of the group was an armed insurgent who arrived in Russia from Turkey, according to an official statement, RIA Novosti reported.
After carrying out the attacks, the militants planned to travel to Syria to fight in the conflict there, according to the FSB.
During raids in Yekaterinburg, security services uncovered an explosives laboratory, the state-run TASS news agency reported. An electric detonator, firearms, grenades, components of homemade explosives and extremist literature were also produced in the lab.
It is understood that the detainees will be charged with planning terrorist activity and the illegal possession of weapons and explosives.
President Vladimir Putin said that authorities should take preemptive measures against Islamist extremists who may return to Russia from Syria and engage in terrorist activities.
The Islamic State is a terrorist organization banned in Russia.
Congratulations to Russian security forces and this is not time to celebrate too much as there is every probability of numerous evil activities being planned by the deadly insurgent. The best solution is to be ahead of the game. The next target maybe shifted away from Russia for the time being and focuses on another soft target still within Europe. The best thing is for the security to be at their best. Readers please like and share.
